Spinner Bikes and home exercise programs

Maintaining levels of fitness these days gets tougher and tougher when you have to fit lengthy exercise programs into a busy schedule. Many of us run a home business in addition to a day job, and finding time to schedule a gym class into the day can be problematic.

What is frustrating is that for a lot of people as they get older the gym is more than just an exercise regime – its an essential part of a lifetime program for maintaining good health.

So when you can’t find the time to go to the gym what do you do? For me, I do a combination of fitness routines  that I can fit into my week at times that suit me. I work crazy hours – many from home where I can generally find time to squeeze in  40 minutes of exercise, so long as I don’t need to leave home. Driving 20 minutes each way to the gym, then spending an hour in the gym, just doesn’t work for me.

My routines comprise of light weights and an exercise bike – in particular a spin bike. I use the light weights in conjunction with high numbers of reps to help maintain upper body muscle strength. The spin bike I use for high intensity cardio-vascular workouts.

On weekends I complement my spin bike exercise and weights with a session at the archery club. Drawing a 40 lb bow 100 times is great for giving the muscles an alternate workout. So balance in your routine is a good idea, as it keeps you from getting stale doing just one repetitive exercise program week after week.

Purchasing weights is a cheap and easy start to your home exercise program and I would also recommend you take a spin bike class to experience the positive effects you can get from such a high intensity workout.

Once you decide that a spin bike is what you want for your home exercise program you need to choose a spin bike. To decide which is a good quality spin bike you should consider factors such as quality and price. If you really like spin bikes and the benefits you get from them, you may feel that a gym grade spin bike would suit you best.

Either way there are home quality spin bikes as well as gym grade bikes available from well known manufacturers such as Star Trac, Keiser, and Scwhinn that will suit your purpose.
