To be frank using an indoor exercise bike is not rocket science – you basically need to adjust the seat position, height wise and also backwards/forwards. Then slip you feet into the toe clips on the pedals and start pedaling – easier than riding a bike!

The real trick as stated above is to maintain an honest workout ethic during the session. You can literally push yourself to the max on an indoor cycling trainer bike as it is not hard on the joints and there is little chance of injuring yourself, so long as the seat is properly adjusted. But given that you will be out of the seat for some of the class, this is not as much of an issue as if you were on a road bike and a 100 mile ride.
